Well, we figured out that if you are 10-15 minutes late you have missed about half of the game already. Lesson learned! Hadley had been sick with a cough and we had to do a breathing treatment before we left so that's my story and I'm sticking to it! :)
It was an interesting game--probably didn't help being so hot! Some kiddos didn't really feel like playing, some kiddos left altogether, Michael was a rock star soccer player that day, Jenna was VERY into blowing bubbles with her gum, Hadley figured out how to score tons of goals, and Coach Barry did an excellent job handling everything (with some help from Elisha - go soccer mom!) and without the ALMIGHTY COACH SASH there. ;) Just kidding - we missed you guys! And thanks again to the Buttners for bringing snacks!
Don't forget that you can add any pictures you took just by joining the blog as a member! :)
Remember, there is no game this Saturday since it is Labor Day weekend, but as far as I know we DO still have practice on Tuesday. So we'll see you then! Have a great week and a safe and wonderful holiday weekend!

It's been a while...
I feel like I've been out of the "soccer loop" for awhile. We have been out of town and had sick ones at home over the last week, but we're getting back to normal and excited about our game this Saturday! Here's a few reminders from the latest EDYSL newsletter that I thought were worth noting:
Forecast for Brentwood/Oakley area is for a high 90’s to low 100’s for this coming Saturday. Accordingly, it is best to prepare players prior to the game. Drinking water is the best manner to hydrate and prepare the body for activity. During very hot weather, drink a minimum of six to eight glasses of cool fluids (1-1/2 to 2 quarts) such as water, fruit juice, or fruit-flavored drinks, even if you are not thirsty. A simple manner for players or parents to check is the color of the urine. A clear to light yellow color indicates good hydration, while a more yellow or goldish color would indicate more fluids are! necessary.
Fan Role During Games
Before the Game:
1. Make a commitment to Honor the Game in action and language no matter what others may do.
2. Tell your child before each game that you are proud of him or her regardless of how well he or she plays.
During the Game:
1. Fill your children's "Emotional Tank" through praise and positive recognition so they can play their very best.
2. Don't give instructions to your child during the game. Let the coach correct player mistakes.
3. Cheer good plays by both teams (this is advanced behavior!)
4. Mention good calls by the official to other parents.
5. If an official makes a "bad" call against your team? Honor the Game—BE SILENT!
6. If another parent on your team yells at an official? Gently remind him or her to Honor the Game.
7. Don't do anything in the heat of the moment that you will regret after the game. Ask yourself, "Will this embarrass my child or the team?"
8. Remember to have fun! Enjoy the game.
After the Game:
1. Thank the officials for doing a difficult job for little or no pay.
2. Thank the coaches for their commitment and effort.
3. Don't give advice. Instead ask your child what he or she thought about the game and then LISTEN. Listening fills Emotional Tanks.
4. Tell your child again that you are proud of him or her, whether the team won or lost.
And of course remember it's all about having fun, fun, fun! And a special KUDOS to Coach Barry for making our fabulous banner able to stand on it's own! :)
I don't have any pictures from last weekend's game to post, but remember if you sign up to the blog as a member you can add any pictures you have taken yourself! :)

Shady Oaks Game & Picture Day
Well, even though we had to get up at the crack of dawn, it was a fun day and a great game! I think they are all getting into it now, so it can only get better! Can't wait to see the team photos!
Thanks again to Coach Sash and CiCi for hosting the Team Dynamo Slumber Party! So glad it was a success and everyone had a blast! You guys ROCK!
Thanks also to everyone who contributed to the banner. I think it looks great!
BARRY, DON'T FORGET TO GET THE STAKE THINGS TO PUT IT IN THE GROUND... THIS IS YOUR REMINDER. :)
Hope you are all having a great week and we'll see you at practice tomorrow!
Saturday's game is at Shady Oaks again. Kim and Ryan, you are signed up for snacks.
We will be out of town (Vegas Baby!) but my mom will be here from Texas taking care of Hadley so she will bring him to the game...if she can find it. ;)
Have a great week!

First "Official" game!
Our first "official" game! We actually got to play another team which was really fun to watch. It was a little hard to keep up with 2 games at once, so that will take me some getting used to.
Our next game is this Saturday at the Shady Oaks park off of Main Street. It IS our picture day as well, so hopefully everyone can make it and please be there at 7:45. Our banner should be here by then to have in the picture, so keep your fingers crossed. If you have not given me the $14 to contribute to the team banner, you can bring it to the next practice or game, no problem.
Reminders - Slumber party at the Migays this Saturday. Drop your kids off at 5:00 and if they don't want to spend the night or change their mind, you can still go out and pick them up later in the evening. Kudos to CiCi and Coach Sash for taking this on!
Here is a link to the requested Soccer Snack recipes some of you had asked for... glad you enjoyed them!
C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\My Documents\Soccer Snack Recipes.mht
(you may have to copy and paste it if you can't just click on it).
I think I did a better job at getting more action shots of everyone this time. Still hard to do with 2 games going on at once, but oh well.
See you all soon! Soccer Mom Chanda :)

First Soccer Game!
Our first soccer game of the season! I'm not sure who had more fun... the kids or the parents watching the kids! Great fun all around. Can't wait for the next one! Maybe we can get Coach Sash to quit sitting on the job by then. ;)
Pics from Team Dynamo's 1st Game on Opening Day! (Do you notice how all the kids seem to look the same? Oh wait, that's my kid... again and again! I'm pretty sure that if you join the blog you can add your pics too (at least I'm hoping - if not we'll figure out a way to get them on the blog), but I'm not quite sure how yet, so if anyone knows about that, please advise! :)

Soccer Season Begins!
Welcome to Team Dynamo's Blog! I am so excited to be your "Team Mom", although this is my first time so feel free to let me know if I am doing anything wrong... and of course I will blame Sash! ;) My goal is for everyone to have an outlet to share their thoughts, questions and/or complaints (which again will be directed to Sash - ha!). And I would LOVE for everyone to join the blog and add any photos or video you have to share.
Our first practices were great fun to watch. We have a super group of kiddos and their families that are going to make this season a memorable experience. And how about those coaches! Thanks Coach Sash and Coach Barry for taking your time (and energy!) to spend with our kids and making it so fun.
And let's give a "GO DYNAMO" to our first game! ... even though we played ourselves. :) Here are a couple of shout outs for the next game to replace "kick the ball" - "BOLT THE GLOBE!" or "STRIKE THE SPHERE!" Any other suggestions are welcome.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone better and as Coach Sash puts it - having "fun, fun, fun"!
We'll see you on Tuesday at practice at Creekside Park at 4:30!
Here are some photos from our first practices together!
